ATTENTION STORYTELLERS & WRITERS: Listen to Your Mother-San Antonio (LTYM) is looking for you! On January 31 and February 1, we’ll be holding auditions for anyone interested in participating in this year’s show, scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 9 (the day before Mother’s Day). To audition, you must be prepared to read (no memorization necessary) your own original five-minute essay related to motherhood.
LTYM is a 90-minute show featuring live readings of true stories by local storytellers on the beauty, the beast, and the barely rested of motherhood, in celebration of Mother’s Day. Each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities.
Everyone — regardless of gender, ethnicity, age or background — has a story of motherhood. Topics in past shows have ranged from serious (surrogacy, cancer, poverty, substance abuse) to silly (lice, malaprops, embarrassing mom moments.) Bottom Line: LTYM is open to anyone with a mothering story to tell. The only requirement is that the story is true.

Audition sign-ups will begin Monday, January 6. For more information in the meantime, email listentoyourmothersanantonio@gmail.com.
